President Donald Trump worked at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s over the weekend, much to the dismay of the mainstream media. Article headlines and television talking heads speak of how “staged” and “phony” this incident is. One MSNBC contributor even went as far as to question Trump’s physical health, stating that he looked unwell at the fast-food restaurant. The people, however, appear to think differently. Much of the negative news coverage on the visit is due to an existing bias at most mainstream media outlets. If Trump volunteered to rescue kittens and puppies, headlines would spin a negative narrative.
There was a massive crowd outside the restaurant and pure joy from the people who reached Trump’s window. A woman from Brazil came to the window and pleaded with him to not allow the United States to become like her home country. Another man of Indian origin came up to the window and thanked Trump for representing ordinary Americans. The people are telling the mainstream media and politicians what they want from them. The people consistently get ignored. This is why Trump and people like him are wildly popular. Politicians typically represent their own interests instead of their constituents. This is not what Trump does; people appreciate him for that.
