Hollywood actor Richard Dreyfuss offended a theater full of liberals in Massachusetts due to his comments about women and diversity. The 76-year-old actor appeared at the Cabot Theater in Beverly, Massachusetts, for a “Jaws” screening and Q&A session. Dreyfuss starred in the original 1975 Steven Spielberg-directed Jaws as “Hooper.”
There is little video of the “offensive” comments, but witness accounts say the remarks were so bad that many walked out of the theater. This is complicated because Dreyfuss came out on stage wearing a dress over his regular clothing that was almost immediately taken off by theater staff. The “Mr. Holland’s Opus” actor made similar comments railing against forced diversity in movies in a controversial PBS interview in 2023.
