The Department of Justice has issued an interim rule, opening the door for convicted felons to get their gun rights back. This news comes after President Donald Trump issued an Executive Order to look into the gun rights of the nation. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) has tried for years to grant felons their gun rights back, but they have been consistently blocked from doing so. Now, that responsibility will no longer belong to the ATF because the DOJ will take it over.
