Colin Gray, the father of 14-year-old Georgia school shooter Colt Gray, has been arrested. The 54-year-old has been charged with several counts of involuntary manslaughter, second-degree murder, and cruelty to children. This news comes on the heels of an astonishing detail being revealed to the public. Local and federal authorities contacted Colin Gray to warn him about his son. The son was accused of sending electronic threats toward a different school last year. The father and son were interviewed together about the potential of the son committing a school shooting.
Colin Gray told authorities that there were guns in the house, but his son did not have access to them unsupervised. This meeting between the Grays and authorities could have happened as early as May 2023, when the FBI was alerted. However, the father appears to have ignored warnings from the authorities as he gifted Colt an “AR-style” rifle for Christmas. This is the same rifle that Colt used to go on the shooting rampage at Apalachee High School, taking four innocent lives before surrendering to police.
