Kilmar Abrego Garcia is returning to the United States to face charges for human trafficking. Garcia reached a certain level of infamy after being “mistakenly” deported by the Trump administration to a notorious El Salvador prison. His deportation was characterized as something that should not have happened by the left due to the admitted “mistake”, however, the Trump administration says the mistake was a simple clerical error and the deportation was justified.
United States Attorney General Pam Bondi has sort of reversed course and announce Garcia’s return. He will not be sent “back” to his wife and kids, though. Garcia will face charges for human trafficking. With an alleged 100 trips back and forth smuggling men, women, and children, he will most likely be convicted. Upon conviction, Garcia will serve his time in the United States and he will be deported after his sentence is complete.
The charge dates back to a 2022 Tennessee traffic stop in which Garcia had several illegal aliens in a retrofitted van. Officers on the scene speculated that this was human trafficking, as other people may have been caught in the same area on the same route. He was briefly held by police until the Feds called and told them to release him.
