Scott Jennings and Tiffany Cross got into a heated discussion about the USA imposing tariffs on China. Her perspective was that the United States cannot treat China as an adversary because they are our chief trade partner. Jennings and Shermichael Singleton said that we cannot rely so heavily upon China and we must be more self-sufficient. If in the case of a conflict, China could just cut off supply of important materials to the United States. There is also the issue of productivity that is consistently being outsourced to China and other overseas places. This practice allows for cheaper practices but it also results in a lack of jobs for American citizens.
