Texas Floods Claim At Least 80 Lives After Guadalupe River Rises 30 Feet In One Hour

The Guadalupe River in Central Texas near San Antonio rose 30 feet in one hour, sparking devastating floods in the area. At least 80 people have died so far as a result with 67 deceased in Kerr County alone. There were advanced warning systems in place to warn of the rain and flooding. Evacuation orders were sent out to people as well. Unfortunately, there is only so much that can be done with a natural disaster of such magnitude.

Many children are among the deceased due to the floods affecting summer camps. Camp Mystic has been in the news all weekend due to many young girls being swept away in the flood water. Many of them were rescued but many of them were not. Heroic people were able to come to the aid of stranded and hurt children. 26-year-old Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan helped save 165 people on the ground on his very first mission out.

Leftists online attempted to point fingers at President Trump for cuts to weather services which is ridiculous. The proposed cuts have not gone into effect yet and even if they did, they would not make a difference in this situation.
