The 2024 State of the Union address took place on Thursday, March 7th, 2024, in front of a joint session of Congress. President Joe Biden delivered marks for a little over an hour. Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker of the House Mike Johnson flanked the President throughout the address. The camera would occasionally pan to members of Congress and special invited guests. Republican House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene heckled the President after giving him a pin and telling him to say Laken Riley’s name. Riley lost her life to an illegal alien in Athens, Georgia. A five-star parent was arrested after heckling the President about the 13 Marines who were killed in Afghanistan during the botched withdrawal.
Biden delivered the speech with a lot of yelling and scowling. The address was very partisan, almost exclusively drawing applause from one side of the aisle. The exceptions were when he spoke about Ukraine and Israel.
