Karmelo Anthony Convicted and Sentenced in Frisco Track Meet Stabbing; New Trial Body Cam Footage Released

Newly released photographs and video from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice show the stabbing incident between Karmelo Anthony and Austin Metcalf with the clearest video seen by the public so far. There is also a picture of the murder weapon which was a 3.5 inch blade pocket knife, a 911 call from a student near the tent where the stabbing took place and body camera footage.

During the recent murder trial, body-worn camera video and audio from responding officers—played publicly for the first time in court—captured the chaotic April 2, 2025, scene at Kuykendall Stadium in Frisco, Texas. In one clip, a crying Anthony is heard telling an officer, “He put his hands on me. I told him not to.” In another, after an officer radios that they have the “alleged suspect,” Anthony responds clearly: “I’m not alleged. I did it.” The footage also showed first responders attempting to save 17-year-old Austin Metcalf’s life amid crying students and the immediate aftermath of the stabbing.
