Nicki Minaj sat down with Lara Trump on Fox News’ My View with Lara Trump in an interview that aired Saturday, September 26, 2026. The appearance mixed career talk with a blunt political message ahead of the November midterms.
Minaj told young Americans their votes matter in both presidential and local races. “Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard,” she said. “Your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world.” She then added, “Please — and vote red!” before laughing and tossing out a joking “nah.” Lara Trump replied, “Amen! … Great sales pitch to the voters of America.”
She also doubled down on her support for President Trump. Minaj called him “a very authentic person” who “brings this candid, unedited vibe to the White House that we’ve never before seen.” She said that off-script style feels refreshing after years of politicians who seemed to follow a script. “When you see someone that goes off script, it’s like you come alive again, you feel alive,” she said. She added that she has “made it my mission to be someone that supports him.”
Minaj criticized Democrats as “petty and childish” and “too caught up in pop culture.” In another clip from the interview she said Democrats are “digging their own grave” with Black voters.
The appearance drew the expected split reaction. Supporters praised her for speaking plainly. Critics pointed out that Minaj, born in Trinidad and Tobago, is not a U.S. citizen and cannot vote herself; some also questioned her motives and mocked her look. Minaj later posted that Lara Trump and her team had been “gracious and inviting.”
The interview is the latest public alignment between the rapper and the Trump family after she appeared at White House-related events earlier in 2026 and served as a judge for a Small Business Administration pitch competition.
