A small group of black men appeared on MSNBC to speak about the emergence of Kamala Harris as the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee. The men ranged in age from young to old and seemed to be at least one member of the LGBTQ community. All the men, except one, said they think Kamala will win. The lone objection based his opinion on possible racism from people who are displeased with the job that Barack Obama did. Since one black person “messed up” in the eyes of some, that would make it difficult for all. The panel was very left-leaning and did not truly represent the entirety of black Americans. The host, however, did point out one key thing that many conservative black Republicans have been shouting from the mountaintops for years. Black people are not a monolith, and we should have the freedom to express ourselves however we like.
