Mask Mandates Return To California Days Before 2024 Presidential Election

Mask mandates will return to California on November 1st of this year, just four days before the 2024 Presidential election. The mandates were handed down by individual counties in the Bay Area, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and Napa. The oddly-timed mandates only apply to healthcare facilities. Several reports state that these rules only affect healthcare workers; however, patients and visitors may be required to wear masks. The justification behind the newly revived rules is the pending cold and flu season. This is not just about COVID-19 but about the common cold as well. Mask mandates were trending during the height of COVID-19, but they have since been cast away as an ineffective and reactionary thing.
