CNN hosts were surprised to discover that the majority of Americans do not appear to link climate change to the Southern California wildfires. Google Search Trends show a 2400% increase in searches for “wildfires” while searches for “climate change” have gone down by 9%. The percentage of the American populous concerned with the idea of human beings contributing to fluctuations in weather patterns is as low as it was in 1991. The years-long barrage of (mis)information about climate change is beginning to become irrelevant and ineffective as Americans have lost trust in legacy media and K-12 state education.
