President Joe Biden has announced his 2024 Presidential Campaign hoping to be reelected as the incumbent Democrat. He is 80 years old and will turn 82 at the end of 2024. If his bid is successful, he would become the oldest President ever elected. Polls suggest that 70% of Democrat voters do not want Biden to run again. This is in the face of an ailing economy, foreign tension, and wars, and also an overall feeling that Biden is not physically capable of running a nation.
On the contrary, Biden’s chief opponent, Donald Trump, also has high unfavorability. Trump’s unfavorability is much higher than the other frontrunner to become the GOP’s Presidential candidate – Ron DeSantis. However, Trump is still the favorite among potential GOP voters. This dynamic creates a very interesting situation. 2024 could become a rematch of 2020.
