Well-known leftist comedian and talk show host Bill Maher had a conversation with rapper Xzibit on Maher’s “Club Random” Podcast. A clip from the show in which the two men spoke about race is currently making it’s way around the internet. The conversation started off with reflecting on past issues like slavery and racism, per usual.
At a certain point, Xzibit made a remark about America being tricked into believing that DEI was for black people. Bill Maher stopped him in his tracks and disagreed, saying that DEI was put into place to “even things out” for black people in the workplace. Xzibit corrected Maher and said that black people are at the bottom of the list of groups who are helped with DEI.
That sparked a conversation that goes beyond just the two gentlemen on the podcast. There is a consistent narrative about black people coming from those who don’t know much or from those who still see blacks as inferior, although they think they are speaking from a place of altruism and benevolence.
