US District Judge Kathryn Kimball Mizelle, a Donald Trump appointee, has struck down the Federal mask mandate that applied to airports and flights in the United States. There may be other restrictions on international travel, but the mask mandate is no longer in effect for the United States. This ruling was outlined in a 59-page document. The key to this decision was the overreach of the C.D.C.’s authority. Judge Kimball Mizelle argued that these unelected officials were granted entirely too much power that could be (and has been, quite frankly) abused in ways that far exceed the intended scope of such an organization.
