FEMA Whistleblowers Say Hurricane Helene Resources Are Being Wasted

Several FEMA whistleblowers have come forward to discuss the wasteful spending of resources. This news comes on the heels of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas revealing that FEMA does not have enough money to last until the end of the current hurricane season. Around $60 billion was appropriated for the disaster relief agency.

Of that $60 billion, at least $1.4 billion was spent on migrants. Some say that such an expenditure is inappropriate due to the needs of American citizens coming before migrants. Others say that the money spent is irrelevant due to how small of a number it is compared to the total money granted. One thing is for sure, however… the migrant population does not have to worry about money running out for their needs.

Migrants are given the red carpet treatment everywhere they go. American citizens, however, are fighting for the resources they have been contributing to financially and physically for their entire lives. There are also reports of FEMA not operating efficiently on the ground in North Carolina and other Helene-affected areas. Regular people volunteering their time and money are doing a better job of getting resources to the people on the ground than the Federal Government.
