The 14-year-old male who committed a mass shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, was known to police since at least 2023. The male, who was a student at the school, allegedly made online threats that were deemed credible enough to warrant a response from local authorities. The boy was interviewed with his father, and questions about access to guns were asked. The father reassured officers that his hunting weapons were secured and away from the boy. Unfortunately, there was nothing else done… or that could be done… to stop the tragedy that wound up taking place. The student took the lives of four people (two students and two teachers) during the school day.
