R&B Singer Jill Scott desecrated the National Anthem with what can only be described as a “woke” rendition of it. She sang her version of the song during the recent Essence Fest in New Orleans, Louisiana. Scott was met with mixed reviews online after video of the performance hit the internet. Some say that she did an amazing job to illustrate the horrific acts that the United States has committed over the years. Others say that she sounded ungrateful and hateful toward the country that has granted her immeasurable success.
