President Joe Biden called Trump supporters “garbage” during a zoom campaign call with Voto Latino. The context behind his comments is the continued fallout over comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke at the Madison Square Garden Trump Rally in which he referred to Puerto Rico as a “floating island of garbage.” Of course, the mainstream media characterized Tony’s joke as a personal attack against Puerto Ricans when, in reality, it was about the island’s severe issue with waste management.
Biden was not as specific with his insult, stating that the only garbage he sees are Trump supporters. His comments were met with instant condemnation from conservative politicians, regular people, and even liberal talking head types on CNN. Such a comment is a big distraction for the Kamala Harris campaign less than one calendar week before the General Election.
