Lone Holdout Juror in Lindsay Clancy Trial Defends Decision in First Fox News Interview

Michael Desronvil, the lone holdout juror in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial, defended his stance in his first televised interview on Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” with Kayleigh McEnany, which aired October 15, 2026.

Desronvil, 48, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, was the only juror who refused to join the other 11 in finding Clancy not criminally responsible for the January 2023 strangulation deaths of her three children—5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan. The deadlock led Judge William Sullivan to declare a mistrial on September 4 after roughly 38 hours of deliberations. Clancy’s defense argued she acted under the influence of postpartum psychosis; prosecutors contended she knew what she was doing.

In the interview, Desronvil said he had “no” reasonable doubt. He described Clancy as “methodical” in what he called the “execution” of the children and pointed to the “thought process that goes behind… to fulfill the commitment of doing that,” which he viewed as logical based on courtroom evidence and video. He called the children the “Three Angels” and urged focus on them rather than other aspects of the case, noting his own 5-year-old daughter and the emotional impact of seeing the victims’ innocence. He described Patrick Clancy’s 911 call as “surreal,” citing the pain and desperation in the father’s voice as particularly striking.

Desronvil said he had “a lot of evidence to back up my claim” but declined to detail it out of respect for fellow jurors and the ongoing court process. He acknowledged “tense” moments in the deliberation room and felt decisions were sometimes being swayed, though he said he listened. He denied other jurors’ claims that he had admitted reasonable doubt while still refusing to acquit.

Addressing defense scrutiny, Desronvil said he answered the confidential juror questionnaire truthfully. He described a 2021 domestic incident involving his wife (charges later dropped) as having been “blown out of proportion,” with no physical, emotional, or financial abuse. On claims of phone use during deliberations, he stated that “everybody had their cellphones” and that his was used only during breaks, not while deliberating. Clancy’s attorney Kevin Reddington has sought a limited inquiry focused in part on Desronvil’s records, questionnaire, and phone activity; Desronvil’s side has pushed back.

Desronvil also described post-trial harassment, including journalists going through his mail and peering into windows (which he said is captured on his surveillance footage). He noted police escorts for his fiancée, said he has been scared, and credited strong local community, church, and public safety support. He mentioned relying on prayer and the Bible (referencing Psalm 1) during deliberations and said that while the scrutiny has been difficult, he would serve on a jury again if required because he answers to a “higher power.”

The interview comes amid ongoing legal questions about a potential retrial and defense efforts to examine aspects of the jury process. The Plymouth County district attorney has not yet announced whether prosecutors will seek to try Clancy again.
