MSNBC host Rachel Maddow has reportedly taken a $5 million annual salary pay cut. The “Rachel Maddow Show” host was making $30 million per year for her Monday night show. The network has been facing tremendous revenue and ratings losses which have only amplified after President Trump’s victory. Neilsen has reported a whopping 40% drop in ratings on MSNBC compared to this time last year. Although Maddow’s salary is still very high and among the most lucrative in the industry, her job is far from secure. COMCAST is attempting to “spinoff” or outright sell MSNBC along with other smaller channels. The goal is to squeeze some sort of revenue out of the dying mainstream media industry.
