Several META engineers admitted that there is rampant censorship of conservatives on Facebook. The men were captured on candid camera during “dates” making the not-so-stunning admissions. Facebook censorship happens at the most basic of levels, including “someone’s uncle” posting something negative about Kamala Harris.
Facebook spokesperson Andy Stone responded to the O’Keefe Media Group video by saying the policy of downranking political content of all types is publicly known and not something to write an expose about. However, downranking, shadow banning, and other forms of censorship happen primarily in one direction.
Machine learning engineer Plamen Dzhelepov says that the censorship is “biased” because the fact-checkers that Facebook relies on to engage in censorship almost exclusively take action against conservative posts.
