Michigan Judge Thrown Off Of Her Docket Over Racist Remarks

Oakland County, Michigan, judge Kathleen Ann Ryan was thrown off her docket for racist comments made during leaked phone calls. Ryan also made homophobic and a series of other derogatory remarks in the recordings. Chief Probate Judge Linda Hallmark removed Judge Ryan from her docket on August 27th, announcing that “a complaint regarding internal allegations of unprofessional conduct” was sent to the Judicial Tenure Commission. Oakland County Probate Court Administrator Edward Hutton says he has been harassed by Ryan for years, and he finally had to become a whistleblower to prevent her presence in the legal system.
