Neil DeGrasse Tyson attempted to use science to justify transgender women in women’s sports on an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. The famous scientist has appeared on other programs defending the controversial practice of allowing biological men to compete in women’s sports. First, Tyson laid out a perfectly rational argument as to why men should not compete against women. He stated that men are, on average, 10% faster and 50% stronger than women. Everything he said made sense when it came to an argument rooted in truth. However, when Tyson went off the beaten path and began to try and twist his brain to justify men in women’s sports, his logical conversation become nonsensical. His comments appear to come not from a place of science but from a place of political ideology.
