New York City Mayor Eric Adams may be ousted from office by fellow Democrats if Governor Kathy Hochul gets her way. As of the writing of this article, the Governor is holding meetings with “black leaders” such as Al Sharpton and Hakeem Jeffries. The purpose of this meeting is to determine wether or not she will remove the Mayor from office. All of this was spurred on by President Trump’s desire to see the corruption case against Adams dismissed. The Department of Justice has filed a motion to drop the case. This motion has caused mass resignations from the Mayor’s office, protests from Democrats in the street, and public condemnation from Democratic officials.
