A very large Detroit rapper by the name of “Dank Demoss” (Dajua Blanding) is suing Lyft for weight discrimination. The dollar amount she is seeking hasn’t been disclosed but reports say the figure is in the millions. This lawsuit comes on the heels of a viral video featuring her and a Lyft driver. The driver refused to accept her ride upon arrival due to her size. He says his vehicle does not have enough room in the back and he has issues with his tires. There was also an audible rattle, signaling a potential mechanical issue that could be worsened with the nearly 500-pound rapper getting inside the car. Blanding’s lawyer says that weight is a protected class, no different than race and religion. Lyft, as of the writing of this article, has not responded publicly to the lawsuit.
