President Donald Trump Selects JD Vance As His Vice President

President Trump has selected former “never-Trumper” Ohio Senator (R) JD Vance as his next Vice President. Vance has only been Senator in the Buckeye State for two years, and it is his first role in politics. He rose to popularity after publishing the wildly-successful book “Hillbilly Elegy” about the life of poor whites in Middletown, Ohio. The book was released in 2016, the same time as Trump’s rise to the Presidency. Vance was initially critical of Trump, saying he never liked him and wished he didn’t become President. He also referred to Trump as “cultural heroin,” which is an apparent reference back to growing up in opioids-rocked Southern Ohio. Ultimately, Vance says he regrets what he said back then and has been a very pro-Trump person since long before becoming Senator in 2022.
