Rapper “Quavo” of “The Migos” was on a yacht in Miami during the robbery of the boat’s captain. Quavo was not named as a suspect in the robbery. At least two men snatched the captain’s cell phone and wallet after a dispute about rental time on the vessel. This incident was initially reported as an armed robbery but that was later changed to “strong-arm” robbery. This is most likely because no gun was used in the act… however, there were two guns recovered from the boat.
The yacht’s crew approached partygoers and told them their rented time on the boat was ending. This news infuriated some passengers, sparking the demand for a refund. The crew was threatened and the captain was ultimately robbed. As the yacht attempted to return to the dock, there was an attempt to prevent that from happening. And of course, the police were called. The yacht was summarily evacuated after police arrived. Several people were briefly detained.
This is not the first time Quavo has been present during the commission of a serious crime. Earlier this year, Quavo was in Houston, Texas with his nephew “Takeoff”, also of the group “The Migos.” The two rappers were present at a dice game featuring other local rappers and random people. Quavo began to argue with a person about basketball at some point during the game. What should have been a non-issue became deadly when that argument resulted in guns being drawn and fired. Takeoff was shot by stray fire and died on the scene.
