The sexual assault lawsuit against Jay-Z and Sean “Diddy Combs” (Puff Daddy) has been dropped by the accuser. The lawsuit was brought forth by well-known ambulance chaser Tony Buzbee.
Buzbee was involved with the Deshaun Watson case. He represented over 20 women who came forward to allege inappropriate behavior from the Cleveland Browns quarterback. Watson was ordered to pay tens of millions of dollars to the women after losing the lawsuit but he never faced criminal charges.
As it relates to Jay-Z and Puff, the circumstances were similar to the Deshaun Watson case. A woman came forward under a Jane Doe pseudonym to allege both men assaulted her in the year 2000 at a MTV Video Music Awards afterparty. Jay-Z, also known as Sean Carter, has vehemently denied all allegations. Through a statement, Jay-Z understood this lawsuit was an attempt at extortion through settlement to avoid court.
