Dallas, Texas – September 24, 2025 – A tragic shooting unfolded early this morning at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) field office in northwestern Dallas, resulting in the deaths of two detainees and critical injuries to a third. The gunman, identified as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, died by suicide at the scene.
The attack began around 6:40 a.m. at the facility near Love Field Airport. Authorities say Jahn fired from a nearby rooftop, targeting a transport van in the facility’s sallyport. The FBI, leading the investigation, described the incident as a “targeted act of violence” with evidence suggesting an anti-ICE motive, including bullet casings inscribed with anti-ICE messages. No ICE officers were harmed.
DHS Secretary Kristi Noem and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson condemned the violence, with officials noting this as the third attack on a Texas DHS facility this year. The shooting has reignited debates over immigration policy and the safety of federal facilities, amid ongoing local protests near the site.
The investigation continues as authorities analyze Jahn’s motives and possible connections to extremist groups. The injured detainee remains in critical condition, and the community mourns the loss while grappling with the broader implications of the attack.
