Sunny Hostin Of “The View” Begrudgingly Reads Legal Note Defending Matt Gaetz

Sunny Hostin was forced to read a legal note defending Matt Gaetz during an episode of “The View.” The note stated that Gaetz denies all allegations and that he has not been brought up on charges over allegations of sex trafficking a minor. Hostin read the note at the very end of a nearly ten-minute segment trashing the nomination of Gaetz as the next Attorney General. Ironically enough, it was the outgoing Attorney General’s office, headed up by Merrick Garland, who cleared Gaetz of wrongdoing. There was also a House Ethics Committee investigation that did not result in any charges.

There were, however, charges for Gaetz’s one-time associate, Joel Greenberg. He received an 11-year prison sentence for allegations of sex trafficking and other things, including wire fraud. Greenberg’s case made it to an episode of “American Greed” on CNBC. It is probably safe to say that the bulk of his prison sentence was the fraud and not the same allegations that his one-time friend, Matt Gaetz, was facing. It may be an uphill battle to get Gaetz confirmed as the Attorney General strictly because of the allegations against him, although these allegations have not arisen to the point of imprisonment.
