Terry Crews Explains Other Actor’s Issues With Pay Disparity In Hollywood

Actor Terry Crews appeared on “Club Shay Shay” with Shannon Sharpe and discussed pay disparity in Hollywood. Several actors, including Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard, have publicly voiced their grievances over the pay they have received over the years. Henson famously cried during one or more recent podcast interviews while discussing the subject. Shannon Sharpe asked Terry Crews if he had any “horror stories” related to pay in Hollywood with the context of the actors mentioned above.

Crews said he doesn’t believe in having horror stories for whatever he signed up for. His focus throughout his Hollywood journey was not to chase money but to do things he loved. The role that propelled him to superstardom was Training Day when he stood behind Denzel Washington in the “King Kong” scene. Washington won an Oscar award for that performance. Crews revealed that he was not paid for that scene at all, as he just happened to get a phone call to come down to the apartments in Los Angeles before the scene was shot. The pay (or lack thereof) was less important than the scene’s impact on his career.
