President Donald Trump dominated the 2024 Iowa Caucus, winning by a record-breaking 30-point margin. The Iowa Caucus is the first primary event of the Presidential campaign cycle. Primary races are run to determine the Presidential nominee for each party. Joe Biden doesn’t really have any competitors. Trump was running against Ron DeSantis, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy. Polling before the Iowa Caucus showed Trump as the far-and-away leader of the Republican Party, and the Caucus results confirmed that polling data.
After the results of the Caucus were announced, Vivek Ramaswamy suspended his campaign and endorsed Donald Trump. DeSantis gave a speech in which he cried foul at the media for calling the race too early despite losing to Trump by an all-time record margin. Nikki Haley says the Presidential race is now between two people despite coming in third behind DeSantis.
