Tucker Carlson and FOX News Media have parted ways, according to the television news company, effective immediately. Carlson’s last show was Friday, April 21st, 2023. Tucker Carlson’s announcement comes less than a week after Fox settled a defamation suit for $787.5 million. No specific reason was given for Carlson’s departure. It is not clear if he was fired or if he simply walked away on his own accord. In a short statement, Fox said: “We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.” Carlson’s coveted 8pm prime-time slot will be called “Fox News Tonight.” This show will be hosted by a variety of Fox talent until a suitable permanent replacement is found.
