A black female actress named Denee Benton called Florida Governor Ron DeSantis a “klansman” at the 2023 Tony Awards. Benton is a Broadway actress who was on stage to present an award. She is from Florida and so was the award recipient. So she took the opportunity to mention her home state and the Governor in a negative way. When she referred to DeSantis as a klansman, the overwhelmingly white crowd erupted into thunderous applause.
The issue with what Denee Benton said, aside from a lack of evidence to support this claim, is that she is married to a white man. This is typical of nonwhites who attack whites for being “racist” without evidence. There is an underlying tone of hatred for whites while they have white spouses and mixed children. It is the strangest phenomenon in recent history. The same issue affects politicians Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (AOC), Ilhan Omar, and the newest Supreme Court Justice Kentanji Brown-Jackson.
