The United States of America has given Ukraine $70 billion dollars of aid in the past year. About two-thirds of this aid has gone toward the war effort against the Russian Federation. However, $25 billion of the aid has gone toward non-war purposes, including seed and fertilizer for farmers and small business subsidization. CBS 60 Minutes did a full, 13-minute story on the issue. This may be due to the immense curiosity arising from average Americans who feel like their taxpayer dollars would be spent on fixing domestic issues instead of interfering in a foreign war with no signs of ending well any time soon for Ukraine.
