California Police Go Viral After Using Lego Heads To Censor Suspect Photos

A California police department is complying with a recently implemented state law by using LEGO heads to conceal the identity of suspects. Murietta, California, police say the new law prevents them from revealing arrested individuals’ identities online, so they decided to get creative with the censorship process. At first, they used emojis with different facial expressions to conceal faces. There was even a FaceApp-style filter used, and one suspect got a Shrek face. Their latest iteration of facial obfuscation is the LEGO head technique. This decision has proven to be hilarious, and the pictures have gone viral all over the internet. Unfortunately, Murittea Police will have to discontinue the LEGO head practice as they received a cease and desist letter because the characters are protected by trademark.
