F-35 Stealth Jet Goes Missing After Pilot Ejects Over South Carolina

An F-35 stealth fighter jet, worth around $80 million, has gone missing near North Charleston, South Carolina. The Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort pilot was ejected from the aircraft due to an undetermined issue. However, the jet apparently did not crash… or it did not crash immediately. Autopilot was engaged and the jet was still able to continue flying. It’s destination is not clear and as of Monday afternoon, it is not known if the jet has crashed or is still airborne.

Since the jet is stealth, it does not show up on radar. The internal transponder that helps with identifying location is currently not functional. The United States Government has reached out to the general public for any tips on the jet’s whereabouts.
