Fani Willis has spoken out for the first time after Judge Scott Willis ruled in her favor, allowing her to stay on the Election Interference case featuring Donald Trump and many others. She was unremorseful and unrepentant in her statements, saying that she did nothing illegal or wrong except to be in a relationship with a man. She also noted that there has been an outpouring of support for women. Willis thinks she has become sort of a “face” for feminism. Fani Willis has most likely been advised to refrain from making public statements because she is not entirely out of the proverbial “woods” yet.
Although Judge Scott McAfee allowed her to remain on the Election Interference case after she removed her alleged lover, Nathan Wade, there are still other hurdles for her to tackle. McAfee’s decision was essentially a blueprint for the Georgia Bar to review and potentially disbar Willis. Illegality aside, Fani Willis has several conflicts of interest and inappropriate dealings from her ties to Nathan Wade. The 11Alive interview and two impromptu church sermons could be damaging evidence against her career in the future.
