Police identified 20-year-old Jonathan Douglas Sapirman as the gunman at the center of a mass shooting at Greenwood Park Mall in Indiana. Sapirman entered the mall with at least one, possibly two rifles. He set his sights on the mall’s food court and began to fire indiscriminately. Shortly after the shooting began, a 22-year-old man named Elisjsha Dicken fired on Sapirman with his handgun. The good samaritan fired ten rounds and was successful at stopping the threat. The shooter was killed on the scene. Police held a press conference praising Dicken for his bravery. As a side note, Greenwood Park Mall is a gun-free zone. The shooter obviously disregarded this rule. And it’s a good thing that Dicken, who legally carried his gun thanks to Indiana’s new “Constitutional Carry” rule, ignored the mall’s rule to save the day.
