GOP Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma challenged Teamsters President Sean O’Brien to a fight on the Senate Floor. The confrontation happened during a hearing on labor unions in the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Apparently, there had already been some back and forth between Mullin and O’Brien on social media. Mullin had a list of things that O’Brien said to him online he deemed as offensive. He read them out and then said that they could settle their differences at that moment. Things advanced as far as Mullin actually standing up as if he was going to advance over toward O’Brien. Senator Bernie Sanders was sitting directly next to Mullin and attempted to divert the conversation back to the topic, instead of personal grievances unrelated to politics.
