Harvey Weinstein’s 2020 “Me Too” case has been overturned by the New York Court of Appeals. The landmark case was ultimately deemed full of errors and improperly adjudicated by the sitting judge. Witnesses who allege Harvey Weinstein had done improper things to them in the past were allowed to testify to shape a negative image of Weinstein. These women, however, did not have information on the specific case in which Weinstein was convicted. This was ruled to be an improper practice. Weinstein, age 72, remains in prison due to another conviction of sexual assault in California. The California conviction carries a 16-year sentence.
