President Joe Biden’s troubled son, Hunter Biden, recently penned an op-ed for USA Today in which he decried the GOP for “weaponizing” his addiction. Hunter has a well-known drug addiction to crack cocaine. He says he left the addiction to drugs and alcohol behind him four years ago. However, he is accused of doing quite a few things that are completely illegal during his addiction. As of the writing of this article, Hunter is facing gun charges related to lying on a background check and possession of a weapon while under the influence of drugs. These are serious crimes and he could spend quite a bit of time in prison if convicted.
Many members of the Republican Party and regular law-abiding people in the country accuse Hunter Biden of misusing his status to obtain illicit funds. Hunter sat on the board of the Ukrainian energy company “Burisma Holdings” without any prior experience making upwards of $50,000 per month. This sweet deal happened after he was discharged from the military for his drug use. Then, there is the famous “10 for the big guy” line captured from an email on the “laptop from hell” which references a possible kickback to his father from a foreign business deal. Hunter says that the aforementioned allegations came as a violation of his privacy and weaponization of his addiction, which is an absurd thing to say.
