Kamala Harris’s First Sit-Down TV Interview Was A Disaster

The much-anticipated first interview of Kamala Harris’s Presidential campaign occurred on CNN at 9pm EST Thursday. The interviewer was Dana Bash. Kamala was not alone; her VP pick, Tim Walz, was right by her during the interview. Bash also interviewed him toward the end of the pre-recorded “interview.”

Reports say Kamala’s motorcade was outside CNN’s Downtown Atlanta studios for over six hours. This only yielded little more than 16 minutes of Kamala Harris speaking. The interview was slated to last for one hour. The 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. time slot was filled, but obviously not with just 16 minutes of Kamala speaking. There were three commercial breaks within 43 minutes. Each commercial break was buffered with filler content to tease the next five minutes of content.

The interview program ended at 9:50. At that point, CNN brought on a panel of guests to react to simply fill up the remaining ten minutes. It was a dumpster fire of high magnitude.
