Kristi Noem Facing Heavy Criticism Over Story Of Putting Down Her Dog

Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem is facing heavy criticism over a story in her upcoming book, “No Going Back,” about putting down her dog. Noem, a potential VP pick for President Trump, shared the story about her 14-month-old hunting dog, Cricket. In the book, Noem states that the dog had attacked and killed a neighbor’s chickens. When Noem arrived at the ” crime scene,” the dog tried to bite her. Noem realized that this dog would not be turned around and was untrainable, so the humane thing to do was to put it down. She led Cricket to a gravel pit and shot her.

Noem says that a “better politician” would not tell this story, and she’s probably right. Politicians typically behave in a very welcoming and “perfect” manner to gain people’s trust. Sort of like benign con artists. There are some politicians who stray away from this model of behavior, but they are often unsuccessful.
