Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, Tim Walz, has been the center of controversy after allegations of stolen valor were levied against him. The claim has not come out of nowhere due to becoming the Democratic Party’s VP hopeful. Since Walz is in office and has held other offices, his past has already been scrutinized. Veterans in Minnesota, including his fellow former National Guardsmen, have spoken out against the Governor due to the issue of stolen valor. Walz was scheduled to deploy to Iraq in 2005 as a non-commissioned officer in the US Army. Instead of rising to the call of duty, Walz retired and ran for Congress. Aside from the issue of cowardice from Walz, there is also the issue of claiming particular military accomplishments that he did not earn, including his rank and actions while in service.
