Montana’s State House, led by Republicans, voted to remove transgender Democrat Zooey Zephyr over an offensive remark. Zephyr was making comments about the vote to ban puberty blockers from children in the state when the comments were made. Zephyr said that anyone who voted for the bill would have “blood on their hands.” This comment violated the rules of the house. Subsequently, a vote was held to remove Zephyr. This sparked a small protest in the house. It also, of course, gained national attention due to Zephyr’s LGBT status.
