Joy-Ann Reid of MSNBC stated that black and Hispanic Trump voters are “white adjacent.” The context of her statement is the worldwide movement away from leftism that she thinks is driven by “incels” (involuntarily celibate men) and those who want the glory days of the American white male to return. She made the racially charged comments while commenting on the Republican National Convention (RNC). Nobody on the panel disagreed with her at all, including former RNC Chair Michael Steele, who is a black man. Such statements aren’t anything new to the mainstream media, as they have been hateful and incendiary for a long time, even in the wake of an assassination attempt on the former President.
