New York City has announced a crackdown on wood and coal-fired pizza ovens to improve the city’s air quality. The goal is to decrease carbon emissions in the city by up to 75%. Pizzeria owners in the city are complaining about the measure, primarily due to the cost and also the quality of the pies. One restauranteur says that he already invest $20,000 into an air filtration system in anticipation of the new regulations. Another shop owner says that adjusting the process in which the pizzas are made will also ruin the taste. Meanwhile, NYC is experiencing an overwhelming amount of open drug use and random daytime violence. No measures have been announced to put an end to that, though.
